Finally got the hang of my new grilla pellet smoker enough to feel comfortable trying my first ever brisket. I need to improve a bit on trimming my brisket, but overall I was happy with how it turned out.

Picture 5 looked like you threw it in the trash. I was like “Whaaat! It’s still good… It’s still good!”

I’ll have to taste it before I can give a fair rating. 🤤

Scientists have estimated 85% of “my first brisket” posts are actually not that person’s first brisket 🧐

How do you rate this first attempt for moisture? My briskets have always turned out so dry I just stopped trying.

when i stop at around 195 IT that’s when it’s usually probe tender. but it’s already falling apart. i check the probe constantly and it’s always exactly at 212f at boiling water. i’m seriously thinking about maybe stopping at 190f instead.

As long as it was juicy, you’re good to go just remember no fat no fun facts all the flavors and what keeps all the moisture in so looks good

Do you mean your first brisket that day? Because it looks like you have made way more than 1
