Therefore, I was hopeful that this Italian establishment would serve me a lunch to remember, and it certainly did.

I then overheard him speaking Italian to one of the other staff, telling them what I ordered which further confirmed I was going to experience some authentic food.
I decided to go for the baguette with Italian sausage, cheese and spicy peppers.
My meal was delivered in quick time, and the waiter even asked me if I wanted balsamic olive oil to drizzle on my sandwich.
The presentation was nice – the colourful salad on one side and the baguette on the other was simple yet satisfying to look at.
Upon digging into my lunch, I was impressed with the salty taste of the meat, the melted cheese and the peppers which had a slight kick.
The cafe has a pleasant outdoor seating area. (Image: Newsquest) As a man with Italian ancestry, I’ve eaten my fair share of baguettes and panini over the years.
This was of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while.
The bar reminded me of the humble café’s scattered around my father’s village in the south of Italy, especially when I see people playing football outside the place.
I paid £6.50 for my lunch which was a fair price for the size of portion I received.
I enjoyed the baguette so much that part of me did regret not trying a cappuccino or another item of food on the menu.
In a nutshell, if you happen to be in the city centre, I recommend giving this place a go.
The outdoor seating area is quite spacious too so when the weather is hot, you can enjoy high quality food and pick up sun rays at the same time.
This is my honest review of Bar Piazza, but you can read the numerous views on Google or Tripadvisor for added insight.
