That replacement bucket is about $85.00.

That machine is the MOST dangerous and rigged item in the BOH

Well that sucks. The replacement isn’t that expensive but not necessarily cheap either lol. Also you have a camera in your kitchen recording people working or is this a cellphone video?

I had the base of one come apart on me once. Apparently one of the new guys had dropped it but was too scared to tell anyone. Put a crack in it that I didn’t notice and when I turned it on, the vibrations just broke it (I guess?).

The new guy told me after it happened that he had dropped it the day before. I had worked there a few years prior and was still friends with everyone, and was only there to help out with prep for a couple months while their prep cook recovered from knee surgery, so I took what little fall for it there was to take. Never ratted the little dude out.

In retrospect I think they knew someone else had broken it and I just wasn’t saying anything but no one ever brought it up.

E: that was a longer story than I thought it would be. Sorry, I’m partially retired and like coming in here to reminisce.

I would be so done at that point because I know I have to clean it up even though I didn’t break the dang thing.

  6. Has the build quality gone down on these things in the past decade?

I worked in a small but VERY high volume kitchen all through my 20’s and used a robo just like that, thousands of times. I think we replaced the cup once in the time I worked there. It definitely got thrown around and generally beat to shit in the dish pit, but never failed catastrophically.

I thought they were basically bulletproof.

Absolute losers preying over a security camera. These are the grown children that makeup the American restaurant industry.

Am I the only person who’s never seen fresh mozz in a robo coupe?

Always pay the extra for the metal bowls

    That’s a $1200 food processor, fwiw.

  11. consumeshroomz

That’s what you get when you leave your phone on a food prep surface

Every modern kitchen I’ve been in has dozens of cameras. And if an owner or boss seems nosey…..damn right the review footage.

OP, is this guy named Jak? My friend, Jak, works in a restaurant in Florida, and that looks just like him.

  14. If my robo exploded I’d probably have some similar reaction.

  15. Own_Magician_7554

You can see the energy drain from him. He wants to just fucking leave…

Shit man last night I was 3 minutes until end of shift and dropped a 3 gallon bucket of ranch.

    Good times

  18. I used to basically grind plastic with one of these. Impressive to blow one out.
