Baruccio, a modern Italian delicatessen and wine bar, is opening its doors this September at 12 Holywell Hill – formerly home to Headcase Barbers.

The deli will offer roasted speciality coffee in the morning along with sweet treats and gourmet focaccia sandwiches at lunch.
In the evening, Thursday to Saturday, Baruccio will turn into a cosy neighbourhood wine bar with a regularly changing blackboard menu of seasonal platters and dishes.

The store is also set to offer a curated selection of artisanal pasta, cheese, charcuterie, olive oil, Italian confectionery, and other pantry essentials.
Works are firmly underway to transform the unit into a “well-curated minimalistic interior that transports visitors to the elegance and romance of Italian holidays”.

Barcuccio describes itself as an informal eatery where guests can relax with a cup of barista-grade coffee, share a glass of wine with friends, or enjoy a platter of cheese or charcuterie.
With only a tiny kitchenette on-site, the shop focuses on serving fresh, seasonal food from a selection of carefully picked suppliers – including oysters, salads, gnocchi, focaccia and other Italian delights.
The eatery promises to have an online shop too, matching the in-store experience. It will also adopt a “strong presence on social media”.
From early September the shop’s “soft opening hours”, are Thursday to Sunday, 8am to 6pm and then from October these will change becoming Monday to Sunday 8am to 6pm
Wine nights from Thursday to Saturday will operate between 5pm and 9.30pm.
