This pretty little vegetable is an artichoke, and I get so excited when I start to see them come into season. They are actually really easy to prepare, so you shouldn’t be scared to cook with them. First up, we need to pull off the outer leaves, slice off the stem, and then cut off the sharp points on the remaining leaves with a pair of scissors. Slice off the top, and then spread the leaves open. Your artichoke will go from looking like this to this. Slice open a lemon and rub it all over the artichoke. Fill a large pot with cold water and squeeze the lemon juice into it. Pop the artich chokes into the lemon water and leave to sit while we prepare some breadcrumbs. This will stop your artichokes from turning brown. Today we are making my nana’s breadcrumb stuffed artich chokes and these are just so nostalgic and comforting for me to eat. In a bowl add the breadcrumbs, some finely chopped parsley, the garlic, lots of parmesan cheese, a touch of olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix it all together until you have a wet sandlike texture. Now it’s time to stuff our artich chokes. Grab the bowl of artichokes and remove them from the lemon water. Pat them dry with paper towels. Spread open the leaves as far as you can and stuff as much of that breadcrumb mixture into the openings. You want to get as much of that filling in there as possible, so pack it in nice and tight. Pop them into a pot with two cups of chicken stock and drizzle olive oil all over. I also like to add a little extra grating of cheese. Pop the lid on and leave them to steam for around 20 to 25 minutes or until the artichokes are soft and tender. Serve up the artichoke and pour the hot broth all over. The artich choke will open up like the pretty little flower that she is. Pull off the leaves and scoop up all of that delicious filling. You also want to scrape off all the artichoke flesh with your teeth as this is the best

It’s not a pretty vegetable at all
❤😊
Wow, I've never seen an artichoke recipe made that way in my life, it looks great, I'll make it as soon as the season arrives 🙂
Just like mom and grandma 😊
I love your recipes dear🤌❤️
Way too complicated. Try this: Steam until tender. Dip base of the leaf in melted butter. Eat.
The olive oil is giving "2 shots of vodka" also ive never had an artichoke before so I guess this is my sign to go do that, that looks really really delicious
日本では見ない食べ物だけどとっても美味しそう!
My mom used to make them for us when we were kids and we were just take the whole thing and dip it in a pot of melted butter use our teeth to scrape off the inside meat!!!😂😂😂
You did not take out the middle …. the chokey part.
Manche à couilles ???😂😂😂😂
Oh I'll definitely be trying this. Thank you!!!
Those are maybe the most difficult to prepare veggies 😅
Tell me the difference between this picture and this picture.
“A touch of olive oil”
“Two shots of vodka”
They are the same picture
Could you make this with like ground meat? Like a stuffed bell pepper
This looks soooo good… I'm just wondering how I could make it low carb.
Omg what i wouldn’t give to just buy that from you already cooked 😂
You don't remove the choke?
yummm I love artichokes this way. Also great steamed with lots of garlic, lemon, and bay leaves, then grilled to finish, served with hollandaise sauce for dipping. Of course don’t forget to cut out the heart at the end and fight over it if you are sharing. One of my favourite summer afternoon snacks!
My favourite way to eat artichokes it cooked with (ridiculously sour) vinaigrette
So messy
Ahh typical, another obese recipe that no one should be eating regularly! Good job!!
Why does she talk like that tho
I want to make this for my dad, but I’ll have to substitute the chicken stock for vegetable stock!!
Best part of this dish is how beautiful it is compared to other vegtables.
How gorgeous!! I have never tried artichokes but can't wait to give them a try.
❤️❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Poland
Dumb lady the last bits that you removed is the best part of artichoke but you removed it
‘Your recipe is as caloric as a McDonald’s 😂😂😂
