Raise your hand if your “calorie counting app” looks like this!
By this point I mostly know how many calories are in things, or I just measure and go by the serving size. All I need is to keep track of how many I’ve had so far, and this is the easiest way.

this and adding to google keep pinned note to remember throughout the day

It’s this plus post-it notes with numbers I’ve scribbled while cooking. I used to track everything by item and stuff, but I find it way easier to only keep track of the numbers.

I eat a variation of the same few meals every week so i don’t need to count or weigh anything any more thankfully. I know if I have x for lunch I can have you for a snack later etc, makes it super easy to do and I don’t really have to think about it!

Me in Trader Joe’s mathing out my macros on potential meal preps every single week.

This is me for sure! I downloaded a second calculator app so I can calculate calories with one and keep track of calories with the other LOL

My phone is glued to my face too much as it is and I’ve got the discipline to just think my way through the day to get a rough total. Calculator and memory is the way for me. Or even just ranting to Siri “100 plus 30 plus 50 plus….”

Same. The history feature in the calculator has helped a ton too cause I’ll have my running total then use my calculator for something at work forgetting the number

it used to. then i got asked if i was doing math for fun.
I’m good at math and memory. For all that good it’s done for me.
But Im like, if I don’t eat I could technically drink 8 truly. Or a big ass McDonald’s meal.
I usually eat like a normal human. I add 10 calories for a handful of spinach. Popcorn is negligible but I just call it 100 because I use hot sauce and no butter. It’s like a small bowl. Air pop? It’s like a 40 year old popper. Does it’s job.
Steak is harder because do you count the fat if you don’t eat it. So weight depends. Because 8 oz could be 7 minus fat.
So the math head usually hits between 1200 and 1350 depending on if it’s a cheat day. But I’m pretty tall and a bit active. And not trying to lose. Just maintaining an older flesh suit.
Sorry too much. The brain goes nuts some days.

Same, all the apps require subscriptions which I can’t afford. I don’t have a scale either so I’m really relying on the nutritional label being correct for the serving sizes.

Yep this is how I’ve been counting my calories the past 1.5 years!

but… how do you track your macros?

The apps are wrong so often, or glitchy, or the ads, it’s easier just to quickly do the math and type it in a note file. I never get angry while logging anymore.

I do it in my head. It’s a terrible skill.
Like, okay bread, cheese, hot sauce doesn’t count, avocado size medium.
