Jaw-dropping good price. Had to buy.

  1. Almost zero marbling — looks like select grade. I wouldn’t bother with them at any price if you plan on cooking the meat as steaks.

  2. yeeyeeyee88

Not a good buy imo. Those look like $5/lb steaks

  3. renge-refurion

That might as well be horse. You got hosed, let us know if your jaw drops off after the week you spend chewing on those.

  4. The one at the bottom looks like it has some semblance of marbling but otherwise these don’t seem that appealing. I guess at that price it’s fine but nothing to get excited about.

These will be tough. You may be able to make carpaccio, but steaks like this will tend to be tough and chewy. There’s a reason why it looks like a deal. I would have passed on these at this price. You could cube it and stew it but it’ll take a while to tenderize.

OP fuck the haters on this thread. If you cook any ribeye well enough it’s going to be good. Sure those aren’t the best steaks money can buy, but that’s way cheaper than I can buy ribeye for (albeit mine does look a lil better). But fuck it dude- 3lbs of steak for $30 ain’t bad at all

  7. joanthebean

Idk about jaw-dropping, that’s a mid price for mid steaks

  8. sirchaddm

I mean their rib eyes, but jaw dropping good price? Where abouts are you located? Cause we get way better deals where I’m located. I’m sure they’ll taste great and you’ll enjoy them and that’s all that matters!

  9. thewonderwilly

The “great on the grill” sticker is hilarious

  10. loneranger5860

I’m sure the cap on each of these will taste delicious.

  11. Pasqually3

Great deal to me 👌🏻 ignore the haters

  12. AMDeez_nutz

I mean for like 15-20$ more you could’ve gotten choice grade

  13. Spare_Cheesecake_580

Walmart has the same prices for 10x the quality

  14. Inevitable-Tank6390

I cannot understand the hate you’re getting. Ribeye is one of the best cuts. These are thick, 1lb and $10 each. It really doesn’t take a lot to turn this into a great final product.

  15. The-Titty-Rider

Looks like select, not a great deal

  16. flopflapper

Man, people in this sub are REALLY bad at cooking steaks. People would have you believe you need a chainsaw to cut through this.

They’re cheap ribeyes and you didn’t get an amazing deal. But these can and should taste good AND be tender, and if you can’t make these taste good and be tender you shouldn’t be opening your mouth to comment in this sub, ever.

  17. r4rthrowawaysoon

Those are some not good looking ribeyes.

  18. PaintIntelligent7793

    Marbling is almost nonexistent.

  19. ashbyb72

I bought some sirloin a few weeks ago that I’d never normally do because the ribeyes and strip looked so bad, it was good

  20. Pour_me_one_more

Dont let people get you down. These steaks look good. Not the most marbling, but far better than the London Broil that we could occasionally afford while I was growing up.
And with the rate at which beef is going up, that’s a good price.
Enjoy your steaks, and dont let the snobs get to you. Maybe they have better. Good for them.

  21. Mattyk182

The cow those came from must’ve been jacked 🤣

  22. championsoffun

This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it

  23. SnooHesitations8403

Considering its almost complete lack of marbling, it’s probably Select. Ten bucks a pound is really about right these days. Nuttin’ to write home about, unfortunately.

  24. TheInternetIsForPorb

Jaw-droppingly bad, sorry bud, those are some of the least marbled steaks I’ve ever seen. You’d have been better off getting a chuck roast and cutting the steak portions off.

  25. LSNoyce

The marbling on those cuts look like they came from different cows let alone adjacent locations.

  26. PokerBear28

Not worth it. No rating on it and lack of marbling implies Select at best. Might be below that given how it looks. The cap looks ok though. I might cut that off to grill, and slice the rest for things like stir fry with a good marinade.

  27. blondeambition18

That’s an OK price for OK steaks.

  28. PimpedByAngels

I get these same exact steaks, even with the “great on the grill” sticker … for 15 bucks lol no lie. At a little store called save a lot in southern wv. They’re very meh

  29. sir_macalot

“Jaw-dropping”?? that price is just ok for Select

  30. cannibalparrot

Where’s the marbling? There’s supposed to be marbling!

  31. Desperate-4-Revenue

am I the only one who struggles paying 10$ a steak?

  32. Lilgoodee

Selects are $18/lb near me so looks like a deal to me. If you know how to cook it and enjoy it then ignore the grade police.

  33. Known_Profession7393

I’m sure they’ve got a great personality though.

  34. Soulsuicide

It does not look like jaw dropping to me, tbh. Both the steaks and the price.
