That’s not the only way we make Hawashi in Egypt, there is the Alexandrian way were the bread is made from scratch and the meat in place inside the dough and both are cooked in the oven together like calzones but circular

No olive oil in Egyptian Hawashi, you can use lamb tail fat, ghee or butter. Keep it authentic.
if you cant fined flat bread use Taco and burrito wraps
