Was cooking a pizza and this started to sizzle then popped off in four pieces. I think water got behind the layers. Will BGE warranty this?

If registered, yes. If not, almost certainly no.

Yep, easy warranty if you have it which I assume you do if asking.

Should’ve got an old Smokey
Edit: Calm down ladies, I obviously wouldn’t expect yall to pay 1/10th the price for the same cooking area (that also doesn’t explode). It’s a joke.

If you don’t have warranty, I wonder if you could patch this with refractory cement and paint it green. You don’t want to leave it open like this, that’s for sure.
Edit: Did a quick Google, and there are kits to fix this.
I see domes and bottoms for sale all the time on marketplace if they won’t warranty it

I was one of the others that had this exact issue occur. BGE cleared my warranty claim in about 48 hours. Life’s been busy so I haven’t been able to replace the damaged part yet. They weren’t able to ship the new dome to me per the approval email.

Is this the Sig Sauer special edition?

This looks like a Manufacturing Quality Control issue…the older Eggs never had this problem, I’ve had mine over 10 years and not one issue..
Perhaps they charged something in the manufacturing process to save money and make more profit as the company got bigger.

Since its a quality control issue, id be telling them they can replace it warranty or not otherwise you’ll be plastering it online and asking about your legal options.
Stupidly unsafe for something designed and usually fine to handle high heat. Seen several instances of this happening in the last 3 months.
