Hi, all. I return to L.A. for a work trip this Wednesday through Saturday. As usual, I will be staying in Koreatown and walking to my job site. I won't have a car.

My big plan is to make it to The Apple Pan this time, and I think I'll take public transportation to get there on Wednesday evening after work. I want to try the tuna sandwich and pie, but my big question is: Steakburger or Hickoryburger? And if I get the Steakburger, would they give me some Hickoryburger sauce to dip my fries in?

EDIT: Based on everyone's advice and the stupid schlep it would take to get there, I think I'm gonna skip Apple Pan completely and maybe go to Cassell's in K-Town if I want a burger.

I arrive on Wednesday around 10 AM, and my plan is to take the Flyaway bus from LAX to Union Station, then the red or purple Metro line to Koreatown. I figured once I get to Union Station, that might be a good chance to grab lunch in nearby Chinatown, and everyone has been raving about Howlin' Ray's lately. Is that a good choice? It opens at 11, but it looks like there isn't any seating, and I'll have my roll-aboard bag and a big backpack with me. Would that be a problem?

I do love Nashville hot chicken, and I've had it at Hattie B's in Nashville, and at two excellent hot chicken places where I live. Could Little Jewel of New Orleans possibly be a better choice? I've already been to Philippe the Original in that area, loved it, and reviewed it on my food blog.

Anyway, on Wednesday, I know my boss will want to get a late lunch at Chang Hwa Dang, since it is walkable from where we work. I am by no means a Korean food expert, but I like everything I've tried and love trying new things, so that's fine with me.

I got an amazing breakfast sandwich from Open Market last year, and I would happily go back to try the Normandie brisket sandwich and also maybe their Italian sandwich, but I'd have to go for lunch on Thursday, or not at all.

I have an inconveniently scheduled night meeting on Thursday, so I'm not going to make any grand dinner plans. I'd love to try Guelaguetza, but it closes too early. How is Jilli? The menu looks promising. Would I even be able to get in there on a Thursday night (around 9) as a solo diner?

On Friday I'm in a loooong meeting that will include lunch AND dinner, so I'm not sure if I'll be too tired and/or too full to go out on my own after that. The dinner is being catered by Badmaash.

And before I fly home on Saturday night, I'm going on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour with a local friend. He wants to eat at Doto afterwards, since it will be close to dropping me back off at my hotel after the tour. It looks fantastic. Any recommendations?

Before anyone says it, I don't think I'll have a chance to go to Holbox! I know that is the go-to recommendation here.

Thanks for any advice!
