If you’re on a road trip in the Southwest and want to stop for a slice of pie, an Arizona bakery is one of the best places to do so, according to a new list from AAA. The list named nine restaurants, from California to Alaska, that are “some of the best spots throughout the West.”

Quiches & Pies in Chandler was the only Arizona location on the list. And the winning dish wasn’t a sweet pie, but the bakery’s namesake quiches.

“The real star here is the quiche Lorraine, a rich and savory classic made with ham, bacon, and Swiss cheese, all baked together in a buttery pastry crust,” the list read.

French husband-and-wife duo Fabrice and Máiréad Buschtetz own Cuisine Wine and Bistro, a French restaurant in Chandler that’s won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence three times so far (’21, ’22, ’23). The couple opened the cafe in 2024, hoping to bring the feel of a Paris cafe to their suburban Chandler neighborhood.
