Yeti’s colorful French press coffee maker is certainly a sight to behold. Sturdy, bright, and sizable, it earned the title “Best for Camping” when we tested presses side by side. Though we were thoroughly impressed with the durability and insulation of the Yeti French press, $110 may be steep for some coffee lovers.
Fortunately, Amazon shoppers found a similar French press that mirrors the Yeti’s smooth results and appealing design. In fact, nearly 29,000 people gave the look-alike coffee maker five-star ratings. One reviewer claimed “it outperforms presses that cost twice as much,” and that it’s “truly the best French press” they’ve ever owned. That high praise, plus the fact that it’s on sale, means the Secura French Press Coffee Maker is well worth checking out.

While it’s on sale, Secura’s French press costs $75 less than the Yeti Rambler press. The two presses have several similarities: they both have a 34-ounce capacity, feature a stainless steel double-walled insulation that keeps drinks hot for hours, and include large handles for easy pouring.
What sets the Secura apart, however, is the filter. While the Yeti Rambler’s filter is made up of two layers, the Secura has three. The triple filter ensures that the finest grounds of coffee stay out of your drink for silky-smooth results. Nobody wants to deal with the dregs at the bottom of their favorite coffee mug. Yuck. If the fine-mesh filter layer ever gets worn down, don’t worry—Secura includes two bonus mesh filters with your purchase.
In addition to a smooth plunger, the lid features a convenient triangle symbol above the opening that points towards the pour spout. If you want to maintain more heat between pours, simply twist the lid so the triangle points away from the spout—it will help reduce spills, too. Though the insulated interior keeps contents hot, the long handle always remains cool to the touch. No need to worry about burns when you pour.
“Looked at buying a Yeti version of the French press but didn’t want to spend so much for it,” said one budget-conscious shopper. They admired the Secura’s ability to keep coffee hot for hours, as well as the canister’s large capacity and strong filters.
French presses are typically used to make piping hot coffee, but they can brew other things as well. “It also works great for cold brew or loose-leaf tea if you like to change things up,” noted one five-star reviewer.
Another said the Secura French press “is a perfect solution to my dilemma of how to have a good cup of coffee in a household dominated by my tea-loving fiancée.” They added an enthusiastic post-wedding update: “After using the press daily for a minimum of two pots of tea, my wife’s press continues to operate flawlessly.”
“[I] have a fancy Breville coffee machine, but I actually prefer this,” said another happy customer. “My coffee always tastes consistent and good. My favorite part is that it’s stainless steel (no plastic!)” They also praised how simple it was to use and clean the Secura press, noting that the parts are removable and dishwasher-safe.
One delighted shopper pointed out that similar glass French presses are breakable, recalling times they shattered glass using water that was too hot or too cold, as well as accidentally bumping the glass press into things around the kitchen. The Secura press, however, is made of durable stainless steel. “I’ve been through many French presses in my last 20 years of using them,” they continued. “This is by far the best French press I’ve ever used!”
While on sale, the Secura French press costs $35, $75 less than the similar Yeti Rambler. It’s available in multiple colors (though the price may vary slightly), including bright red, classic black, or shiny stainless steel.
