That plant might re-sprout from the roots.
I’ve had several break that came back out.

Make salsa verde with it and call it Slimer Salsa

If you ever have this happening again, try leaving chilis on the plant and hang he plant upside down in a warm place, the residual juices’ll keep flowing and pods will (somewhat) ripen. I do this in the autumn and it works okay, similar taste/heat as if ripened properly. Definitely better than “ripening” in a paper bag or similar stuff.

6ft bamboo sticks are cheap insurance. I do 1 12″ piece around the main stem, and 3 probably 5ft around the plant to support the branches which helps the whole plant. The main stem bamboo stick needs to be adjusted every so often. Mine have survived some incredible winds in the wide open

Hang it upside down in the sun. You’d be surprised how many might start to get ripe

My entire KSLS plant got decapitated last month. I lost about half the branches on my fatalii, a lot of split stems on maybe another 4 or 5 peppers. I feel your pain. The KSLS is just starting to flower again and I’m probably going to bring it inside when it starts getting cold and put it under a growlight

Stakes and cages people, stakes and cages.

Somtimes they will continue to ripen red off the plant

Cut the stem at like 60° and put it in water. The peppers will continue to ripe. If you had grafting tape you could try splinting the stalks together (cutting out the dried bits and regrading together). Copper staples help alot with support.

Toss those into a 3% brine with a bunch of aromatics and let it sit for a few months. Blend it up with a bunch of additional ingredients into some sauce. You’ll be glad you did!

My oldest daughter and I were out in our garden the other morning and half of one of our pepper plants split and fell while we were both standing there. We feel your pain.

Had a bumper crop one year and it was getting ready to be the first frost, so I went out and picked all the green ones left and made a very hot & delicious green hot sauce. I bottled it and named it Wicked Witch of the South, and put a green-faced witch picture on the label. It was one of my most popular sauces- sort of like Trader Joe’s Green Dragon hot sauce but hella lot hotter.

I had a branch break off on my super chilis, all green. I hung it outside upside down and many have turned red. It’s still hanging right now. They’re still good even if you use them as is, but might be worth hanging them depending on what you want to do with them.

Dehydrate and grind! Sorry for your loss!

I ruined all my green chilies and a bunch of habaneros cause I left them in the sun. At least you didn’t do it to your self. Yes I’ve learned.
