I cleaned my burrs in an ultrasonic bath and I got a free espresso. Yum.

Wouldn’t being submerged in water be incredibly bad for the types of materials burrs are made of?

I’d imagine it would do a good job of cleaning the surface oils and crud off, but the aftermath doesn’t seem worth it. I think burrs have a special protective coating on them from the factory that helps with longevity that an ultrasonic cycle may remove as well.

    So many questions.

Considering you didn’t use any pressure to brew it, I think it’s a pourover. Either way, how did it taste?

Wouldn’t this ruin the seasoning of the burrs that many say allows for more enjoyable espresso? My palate isn’t good enough to taste the difference, but it seems like people want it.
