I have an old traeger frame with a replaced Ortech TR-100 controller and it runs like a champ. At least it did in the past.

However, in very hot weather (95 right now in the shade) no matter where I leave the selector, on smoke or 180 or 225, it just runs very hot.

This has happened each time I've tried a low slow smoke this summer, and it's worked fine for years. In the winter I can consistently blget it to run about 190, sometimes dropping into the 180s and '70s on the smoke setting.
180 has always meant 200 and 225 has always meant 250.

This controller has a P setting dial and I have it on P-2. (As I write this I changed it to P14 but it only dropped to 255 so far)

My question is, is there any way to run it cooler? Would propping the door open a bit cool it down, or just make it work harder and burn more fuel?
