4 questions. Where? Why? How much was it? And how’d it taste?

It looks like it was imported from another planet. But add me to the chorus of people asking if this was good.

Reminds me of that dish pacha ate on the Emperor’s New Groove

Is there meat inside the legs? Serving this without them would make it easier to stomach

You’re definitely more adventurous than me. That’s a big nope

Came across this post after watching the second episode of the Aliens TV show…

  7. keep on hating but this is the future of sustainable seafood

  8. It looks like a Kaiju Skinmite from Pacific Rim. That being said, I would totally try it.

  9. Another one for the checklist, gotta try this one day.

I respect the fact that other cultures eat things I’m unfamiliar with. But I also have to acknowledge that this is the single most nightmare inducing food dish I have ever seen in my entire life, and I hate it with every fiber of my being.

Ever watched the movie The Bay? You basically ate the antagonist.

Seafood creeps me out. The fact that people eat seafood creeps me out even more but I also hope that the seafood eating people eat all of it so I never have to see it or smell it again 😅

Could you name the restaurant in Quy Nhon if you could please? I’d like to bookmark it for a potential future visit.

I had some strange seafood in Vietnam as well lol
There were these things that looked like sea scorpion roaches. They were pretty good.

As a native Louisianian born in New Orleans, I would throw that in with the crawfish boil and bust up into that bad boy. Looks good!

That’s the biggest roly poly I’ve ever seen.

I think it’s mostly the colour that makes it look unappetizing, kinda used to shrimp/lobster/crab turning pink/red when cooked, although the meat does stay white. I’m sure if this looked a bit more pink/red it would look more appealing to eat. Still as someone who’s eaten bugs and loves seafood I would definitely try this of I saw it on the menu.

  18. How do you eat it? Scoop out the centre? Clip the legs? How much meat is on that thing?

  19. PurplePeachBlossom

It’s the lack of color change for me. Bring it to me orange/red i would dig in.

My brother caught a whole mess of big sand fleas here down in Florida and deep fried in one night just like you would popcorn shrimp and he said they were so bomb but then he was freaking sick for three days 🤮

You ate a giant roly poly, or one of the baby bugs in mickey 17 🙁

I consider myself an adventurous eater, and I fully respect the culinary traditions of other cultures, but under no circumstances outside of starvation could I be persuaded to eat this, at least not served in the shell like this.

Also, if you’ve ever seen the horror movie The Bay, this is extra nightmarish.
