I prefer raw salmon in my poke bowls, so I’m hoping someone knows if the salmon that came with this meal is safe to eat without cooking!

I wouldn’t trust hello fresh at all with that man lmao, I wouldn’t say their proteins in general are the highest of quality

I wouldn’t eat it raw if the instructions tell you to cook it.

There’s no way in hell I’d eat HelloFresh salmon raw. I wish, because then this meal would have been even better, but alas

The packaging explicitly tells you to cook it thoroughly.

Never eat any fish raw that specifically tells you on the package that it should be cooked thoroughly

I don’t think this is sushi grade. But I made this recipe tonight and it was delish!

Freeze it for another time and go buy salmon you trust. I wouldn’t.

It’s definitely not sushi grade, so no. Don’t risk the wormies 🪱

Your username is like someone’s response when confronted for eating raw bacon.

Farm-raised salmon usually doesn’t carry parasites since they’re raised on a controlled diet, while wild salmon almost always has them. That said, it’s still not recommended to eat farmed salmon raw unless it’s sushi-grade. If I were you, I’d freeze it for 7 days first and then thaw—this kills any parasites.

Absolutely not. Raw fish for sushi is intentionally bathed in acids to make it safe to eat.

No, it’s Atlantic salmon, which is farmed. It’s a bit of an issue for me to even eat it cooked
