On week 3 of triple feeding a newborn, never thought this would happen to me, but here we are. Trying to get ahead of grinding coffee for the following morning. At least I can blame this one on a lack of sleep.

How long did you stare at it before you realized what went wrong? Sometimes when I made a sleep-deprived mistake, it takes me a couple minutes to register why this morning is different, like my brain is saying “Huh… this doesn’t seem right.” For example, last week I was trying to make tea and used ground coffee by mistake, or when I hadn’t realized the water was cold (stupid smart kettle), or when I dumped the unused tea leaves in the sink instead of pouring the hot water on them.
Sometimes I just want to break down sobbing, “I just want caffeine!”

Happened to me last winter. I looked at it, grinding, and noticed it didn’t land in the dosing cup, and I was wondering where the hell I put it. Roughly 5 seconds after grinding was done, I realized that I still held it in one hand. My first thought was I should call in sick and go back to bed.

Ha! Beat you – Twice in 3 weeks. After a year and a half, I know what I’m doing, I would never forget to put the catch cup in place … the majority of Niche owners have to have this happen at some point, right?

I’m in a similar place in my life, and I measured out beans and poured them into the grinder with the cap still on yesterday and they went everywhere.

I forgot to attach the magnetic catch cup to my hand grinder and walked all around the kitchen while grinding. 19 grams, and a whole “lap” around the kitchen island later, I stepped on slippery powder and realized what had been going on for 80 turns of that handle.
