Thank you for your picture post to r/souvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

You get what you pay for. Especially when you buy cheap Chinese stuff from people who can’t make sure they use proper English phrasing.

This is the exact type of product I avoid at all costs

If you get it make sure it can be taken apart for cleaning. I had a similar one and it sucked shrimp juices into the chamber. Completely unusable even after a soaking.

  5. I use something similar for 3d printing filaments. Works surprisingly well, but I would not want to use it with anything with liquids or even just the juice of some meat.

The food saver I have can be cleaned, this isn’t meant to be taken apart for cleaning.

Honestly, I only use a handheld food saver vacuum pump much like that one and I’ve had zero issues with it. I will say any kind of hand pump is gonna be a lot more tedious than a standard vacuum sealer and only buy something cheap and Chinese if you’re willing to buy it twice!!!
