Is this big of a temperature difference normal or is something wrong here? Pellet grill and temperature probe was just cleaned.

I had this happen to me. Ended up needing to replace the in-chamber sensor and all was good again.

I see one temp displayed. What is the issue?

Seems like one of the probes is out. Can you calibrate it?

I’m in a similar boat. My Thermoworks probes consistently read higher, than my on board probes. This is the case with my current RecTeq, as it was with my past Traeger. I have verified the accuracy of my Thermoworks thermometers in ice baths. But RecTeq takes a strong position on the fine tuned focus of accuracy of their probes. This really puts a damper on my confidence.

Try again with the probe in the middle of the grill where you will be doing all your cooking. You can also check your probe in boiling water to make sure it’s reading properly

Mine is always like that- I trust the probe and adjust temps accordingly

Had this same smoker, when set to 225 I was getting readings of 180-305 with an ambient temp probe. Eventually gave up trying to fix got a recteq flagship. Tested the same temp with the same probe and it held within 5-8 degrees my entire last cook.

One is measuring higher up and the other one lower… put them in the same spot and retest.
