I have been on a weight loss journey for months now & I usually just survive on eggs, and two lean cuisines a day. This method has been low calorie but it isn’t sustainable. I bought some groceries today and yesterday, along with these mason jars, and decided to stray away from the non stop frozen meals.
I made 3 yogurt jars( I ate one this morning which is why there are only 2 haha), and 4 salad jars( I ate a salad jar one hour ago as well). I didn’t want to make 5 because this is very time consuming and I am very afraid of my food wilting, so I’m 3 is the sweet spot.
Since I’m on a weight loss journey, I needed these mason jars to be low calorie friendly but also filling.
The yogurt jars are 523 calories ( including the granola, chocolate chips, and cashews) and 490 cals for the smaller portioned one( I ran out of yogurt so I could only do 1 1/4 cup).
The salad jars are 302 calories !!!!! This includes the croutons and ranch. This is a pretty low number, so I will absolutely make sure to make up for it in dinner. Its my first time making a salad in months, so I don’t really know what I can add to make it a little higher in calories.
All in all, I am proud of myself, and officially consider myself a meal prepper( with mason jars).
I like routine so I probably won’t experiment with outside of adding more ingredients to the yogurts/salad.
Also, let me know if anyone wants the exact ingredients such as the ranch or yogurt!!

Please post your recipes!
We recently added a rule (#6) requiring either a recipe or list of ingredients, since it is so often requested. If you wouldn’t mind adding that we’d appreciate it!
Yay! Wait until you discover the wide mouth pints.
Do your meals stay more fresh in a glass container versus plastic?
Yogurt parfaits look so good!
Oh! I love the tiny jars for the croutons and granola. Very practical AND adorable!
