Singapore – One of our favourite cuisines, Italian food has a huge market and place in Singapore, with many new Italian restaurants opening in the past year. Here are some of the best ones to check out.
Scarpetta
If there is one new pasta place which got me excited this year so far, it has to be Scarpetta. Located along the buzzing Amoy Street, this is a contemporary, sleek and cosy casual Italian restaurant which focuses on pasta. The kitchen is helmed by Chef Danny Ng, who was previously head chef at Bar Cicheti. The food menu is and elevated take on Italian food and is kept concise. It is split into toasts, starters, pastas and desserts. It is a sin to leave without trying the Spicy alla Vodka, baked rigatoni, tomato, chilli, fresh basil (S$21), a baked version of rigatoni with a crisp, slight charred texture on the edge of the rigatoni. PST – Pizza Studio Tamaki
A new pizzeria to watch out for in Singapore’s dining scene, PST, aka Pizza Studio Tamaki, by Tsubasa Tamaki is located in the buzzing Tanjong Pagar. PST is one of the most highly regarded pizzerias in Tokyo sitting consistently on the Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand and on the 100 Top Pizzas in the World list. The brand is known for its Tokyo Neapolitan-style pizzas where its dough is fermented for 30 hours, expect punchy flavours including the likes of 5 Formaggi. [Read more here for our full review]

Anto Pizza E Aperitivi
One of the newest additions to Jiak Chuan Road is Anto Pizza E Aperitivi, an Italian restaurant in the Keong Saik enclave for pizzas and aperitivi. Anto took over the space of the now-defunct Lime House, and it is a dining concept by cousins Giancarlo Mancino and Antonio Brancato. Both Giancarlo and Antonio are from the small town of Pignola, Italy, where Antonio is a master pizzaiolo himself, while Giancarlo is a renowned bartender and founder of GiancarloBAR Ltd. in Hong Kong. It was most recently ranked #13 in the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2025 list and is the #1 top pizzeria in Singapore this year. Le Pristine Singapore
The most anticipated hotel reopening in Singapore this year is undoubtedly Grand Hyatt Singapore, and a handsome looking new restaurant just opened in the Hyatt property. Le Pristine Singapore is a New Italian cuisine dining concept by celebrated Dutch Chef Sergio Herman’s debut in Southeast Asia. Chef Sergio serves up New Italian cuisine, a contemporary tribute to pure Italian flavours and Sergio’s deep-rooted Zeeland (located on the southwestern coast of the Netherland) heritage. Torno Subito
Located at the buzzing Dempsey, Torno Subito is an Italian restaurant by renowned chef Massimo Bottura of the three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana. Unlike the fine-dining concept of Osteria Francescana, Torno Subito is a fine-casual concept and with a playful interior designed by award-winning Italian designer Paola Navone of OTTO Studio. There is also a Three-Course Formula Lunch weekday set menu at at S$68++ per person available from Wednesday to Friday where diners can build their own experience by selecting from a selection of antipasti, mains and desserts. The Made in Sicily (S$40/S$62), a deep-fried dough pizza topped with pistachio sauce, si a standout.

Locanda
Located at Rowell Road in the colourful district of Little India and Jalan Besar, Locanda is a new cosy Italian trattoria concept by Michelin-starred Buona Terra. The food draws inspiration from many Italian regions, from starters to pasta to large serving plates to main and dessert. The flavours of the dishes are robust, and the dining ambience is charming given the location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. [Read more here for our full review]

Casa Vostra
If you are a fan of La Bottega, Casa Vostra should be on your radar of restaurants to check out. Located in Raffles City, Casa Vostra is by Chef-Owner Antonio Miscellanio of La Bottega and Ebb & Flow Group. Dishes to expect at the new restaurant include Casa Vostra’s famed Newpolitan® and Doublecrunch pizzas and other home-style Italian fare. In terms of pricing, the USP of the brand is authentic Italian cuisine at accessible prices where everything is made to order, with nothing above S$30. Sospiri
Located in the newest office building in the CBD, IOI Central Boulevard Towers, Sospiri restaurant located on level 7 is an authentic Southern Italian restaurant and rooftop bar by renowned restaurateur Beppe De Vito of the ilLido Group. The menu here focuses on Southern Italian cuisine, and you can go for set menu or ala carte options. The weekday 3-course set lunch is priced from S$38++ per person, while dinner set menus is priced at S$78++ for 4-course and S$98++ for 5-course. La Bottega Enoteca
Located along the buzzing Joo Chiat Road, the nondescript entrance looks like an abandoned shophouse but once the gate opens, it is a different culinary world inside. The man behind La Bottega is chef owner Antonio Miscellaneo, who is behind the crazily popular private dining Casa Nostra previously. The Neapolitan pizzas are delicious. Acqua e Farina @ Keong Saik
Located at the buzzing Keong Saik Road, Acqua e Farina, which means “water and flour” in Italian, was first opened in 2016 at The Rail Mall and is helmed by chefs Antonio Manetto from Naples (South of Italy) and Roberto Galbiati from Milan (North of Italy). Fortuna
Another new dining addition to the buzzing Tanjong Pagar enclave along Criag Road is Fortuna (meaning good luck), Singapore’s first Sicilian-Neapolitan restaurant. The team is not new to F&B, as the Fortuna brand was founded in Sydney and is already an established restaurant in the city of Australia. The menu blends the best flavors of Sicily and Napoli, underlined by produce imported from the Italian regions. The maestro behind the pizza magic, Giorgio Sorce is nominated as the top pizza chef worldwide at Number 87th, and Number 41st in Italy, as ranked by Top 100 Pizza 2023 powered by The Best Chef Awards. Bar Cicheti
The popular Italian restaurant went through a revamp with an updated space and menu. Expect a sleek and elegant yet relaxed dining vibes with a mix of counter seats and tables, along with an al fresco section. The menu is a selection of dishes To Start(antipasti), To Slurp (pasta), and To Savour (dessert), and there is a good variety of dishes to choose from. L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele Singapore
Located on level one of the new Mercure Icon Singapore City Centre, L’antica Pizzeria Da Michele Singapore, a longstanding pizza brand from Italy with over 150 years of history, just opened its first Southeast Asia outpost last month along the buzzing Club Street. Founded in 1870 by Michele Condurro, there are two quintessential Neapolitan-style favourites for the pizza – the Margherita (S$28) featuring Agerola Fior di Latte and pecorino Romano DOP, an aged cheese made from sheep milk; as well as the Marinara (S$22) with tomato sauce, garlic and a sprinkle of oregano. Pete’s Place
The new Pete’s Place at the Grand Hyatt Singapore is a complete overhaul from its previous rustic look with the hotel’s reopening. Meats to expect include the Bistecca alla Griglia, a 1kg Australian bone in rib-eye steak with Tuscany rub along with sautéed broccolini, a glorious meat good to share for a few pax. For pasta, the Risotto Gamberi e Melone is the crowd’s favourite where the arborio risotto with rock melon is topped with fresh, red prawn tartare along crispy cappers. Bottega di Carna
One of the new exciting developments in Duxton, Mondrian Singapore Duxton is the brand’s first property in Singapore which also houses an Italian restaurant, Bottega di Carna. Located at the lobby level of the hotel, Bottega di Carna is the vibrant contemporary Italian restaurant by Dario Cecchini, also dubbed as “The Greatest Butcher in The World.” Expect homemade pastas, cold cut meats, a good variety of starters and Josper grilled meats on the ala cate menu here. Fico
One of the most exciting restaurant openings in East Coast Park, Fico is helmed by Chef-partner Mirko Febbrile (previously the head chef of One Michelin Star Braci) in partnership with The Lo & Behold Group. You get breezy outdoor seats and a beautiful indoor dining space which spots white and earthy colour tones. Chef Mirko hails from Puglia, Italy, and the menu at Fico is seasonal and designed with sharing dishes in mind – think terrines, handmade pastas and their signature Focaccina.
