🇹🇷 Looking for a healthy, high-protein turkish lentil soup recipe for weight loss that’s actually delicious? This soup (Mercimek Çorbası) is everything you need — filling, flavourful, and made with simple, wholesome ingredients.

Packed with plant-based protein from red lentils, this one-pot soup is perfect if you’re trying to eat healthier, lose weight, or just want an easy meal prep option that actually keeps you full. It’s low in calories, naturally vegan (or vegetarian depending on your stock), and spiced just right with cumin, paprika, garlic, and a touch of chilli.

The fresh lemon juice at the end brightens everything up, and the drizzle of Aleppo pepper oil? Game changer.

This is a great go-to if you’re after a high-protein meal idea, especially during the colder months or when you need something comforting but still light.

  1. The packet says 20 mins for lentils, but chefs always recommend cooking for 40 mins. Do you know the reason for the difference in recommended cooking timings?

  2. Thanks Scott. Looks delicious and quick and easy to make, I'm going to make a batch of this on Sunday, that's my lunches sorted for next week.
