I received a voucher thru Flashfood app when I used it for the 1st time, offering $5 off my next purchase of $7 or more.

The produce bag was $5 and the cookies were 2.50. With service fee and tax I paid $2.93 for this.

I had to cut up the pineapple right away as it was way overripe and when I did one side was not edible. The rest was fine as long as I could cube it and refrigerate it. I may have to freeze it if we don’t eat it by this evening.

I also had to cut up 3 of the soft fruit as they were super ripe and had been banged around in the bag getting damaged beside the pineapple.

All the carrots were getting flexible and 2 cucumber had wrinkled ends. So I washed and cut them in big chunks to freeze for a frozen treat for my German Shepherd, who loved them frozen.

I have an idea for the veggies but it will be in a day or two. Which I’m sure I’ll post about, as it involves repurposing my leftovers.

Protip for the new users: if the merchant offers multiple produce/fruit boxes, visually inspect the contents before purchase.

When Flashfood started in our area, merchants were pretty responsible, but it wasn’t long before a couple of places started putting sketchy stuff in there. Things that really should have been tossed. So, lesson learned. :/

I love flash food! It’s saved my butt so many times! Helped me survive off $30-40 one month when I was low on funds.

Just wish more places signed up to it.
