Usually a better option. Especially if the restaurants are chains.

I long for the day when I can say this. My wings are either to die for or average at best. I really struggle with consistency

  3. ImaRaginCajun

I’m at the point where I prefer wings.

Do you just snap the joint instead of cutting them apart?

I also like my wings better than most places. You can’t beat smoked and then air fried. With a rub on them they don’t even need sauce.

  5. This is my problem with learning how to cook the things I love well, going to restaurants has lost 95% of its luster 😂

I’m the same way. I usually smoke my wings then air fry em to finish the cook. Spin em in a home made sauce and ditch the shirt so it’s less stain removal. I’ll get wings from roosters when ever I’m in central Ohio and indulge in the breaded wings and if I ever end up in Buffalo it’ll be a tour after consulting this sub for who’s making the best wings.

I’m with you but when I get to Buffalo that’s right out the window

Same. I don’t mean to toot my own horn but I probably make the greatest wing sauce ever conceived. The trick is to add Frank’s AND butter /s but for real there is no incentive for me to buy overpriced wings anymore now that I own an air fryer. Its quicker cheaper and tastes better

Me too, i think they’re just as good. I don’t even do anything fancy. My recipe is super simple. These taste just as good to me as most places ive had and are healthier than fried in oil.

Pat them dry, put them on a wire rack in my air fryer for 35-40 mins at 390 F. Flip halfway through. Pour an inch or so of Franks Buffalo wing sauce in a bowl. After they’re done put each wing individually in the bowl flip/turn it so the sauce covers completely. Place them on a plate. For blue cheese i use Wishbone. I’ve tried a few others and i prefer Wishbone for basic store bought.

Sometimes i’ll do fries as well at the same time in the air fryer to go with them. Those go in when it’s time to flip the wings halfway through.

Local grocery store has the fancy Red Bird wings for 3.99 a pound. Makes for excellent wings. Have almost 2lbs drying out in the fridge.

  11. I’m the same with bbq. With the downgrade of quality and the increase in price unless it’s a top notch restaurant just do it at home. Honestly I make my own pasta now too

How i wish i can make this good too..

That’s when you realize you are no longer a wing slave. It’s empowering.

That’s a point to aspire to be.

No tip love found, but these girls are beautiful.

Same. Which is why i will start a chicken wing food truck business with my family in the future

Living in Buffalo it’s a bit of a stretch for me, but I will agree when I want wings it’s a lot easier to reach for the air fryer and hot sauce when it’ll cost me 60% less to enjoy the same amount of wings.

I broke down full wing portions this morning. I like the tips for stock and then I freeze the drums and flats. Quick thaw, baking powder and dry rub. I chargrill them too if I fire up the grill.

I will say that breaking down those joints is so annoying. Another commenter said to cook and break down afterwards. I’ll try that next time. Breaking down chicken is something I do often including deboning thighs or whole chickens. Last time I made thighs I cooked bone in and deboned after cooked which was way easier but never thought about it for wings.

Seriously air fryer drumsticks slathered in buffalo is my go to meal. Way cheaper too.

May I have a plate. I have a homemade Sriracha Buffalo sauce I trade you for
