If you’ve never tried BBQ Moroccan Spiced Lamb Kebabs before, you’re about to discover your new favourite grilled recipe. These kebabs are juicy, smoky, and bursting with North African flavours — perfect for summer BBQs, weekend cookouts, or when you want to impress friends and family.
We start with 500g of diced lamb shoulder (large, tender chunks) marinated in a zesty, spicy blend of olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, turmeric, garlic, and a punch of harissa paste. The longer you marinate, the deeper the flavour — overnight if you can!
The skewers are built for maximum flavour — starting with a wedge of lemon, then lamb, then sweet red onion, repeated until they’re loaded. Onto a hot BBQ (180°C / 350°F) they go, cooking over direct coals for around 10 minutes, turning and basting often with the leftover marinade. The goal? Lamb that’s beautifully charred on the outside and blushing pink in the middle.
Served over my fragrant Moroccan couscous — made with pistachios, sultanas, and just 2 teaspoons of my homemade Moroccan spice blend (see recipe below) — this dish is a complete BBQ feast. A squeeze of charred lemon at the end takes it next level.

2 tbsp brown sugar
4 tsp paprika
4 tsp cumin
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
½ tsp cayenne pepper
