POSTIRA, BRAČ – 25 August 2025 – Croatian olive oil is stepping firmly into the international spotlight this autumn.
From 16–18 September, the town of Postira on the island of Brač will host the International Symposium of Olive Oils of Croatia and the Adriatic Coast, a landmark event bringing together global leaders in olive oil production, research, and promotion.
The symposium is brought to Croatia by organisers from New York, known for the world’s most prestigious olive oil competition – NYIOOC.
This is the first time that such an event of such international caliber has been held in Croatia, with a clear goal: to put Croatian olive growing on the global map of excellence.
The symposium is being held at the luxurious Grand Hotel View in Postira, and is organised by Olive Oil Times (NYIOOC) and the Municipality of Postira, under the auspices of the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport and with the support of sponsors and partners including the Croatian National Tourist Board, Split-Dalmatia County and Postira Tourist Board.
Support also comes from leading companies and institutions including Jadran d.d., while Agroklub has already reported extensively on the event.
Curtis Cord, founder of Olive Oil Times and president of NYIOOC, highlighted the importance of the symposium:
“Generations of local producers have played a key role in shaping the story of Croatian olive oil, with knowledge passed down over decades. This symposium is a rare opportunity for international exchange and for that story to be recognised on a global level.”

A milestone for Croatian olive oil
Croatia, and particularly its Adriatic coast, has long been known for producing high-quality olive oils, often winning awards at international competitions.
The Postira symposium aims to strengthen that reputation, offering local producers a platform to connect with experts, share knowledge, and showcase their craft to the wider world.
The event promises lectures, panel discussions, and tastings that will focus on excellence in olive oil production, market trends, and the future of the industry.
