Just picked up this nexgrill oakford 36A from Home Depot and grabbed some spare ribs to throw on to see how she runs.

I’m loving it so far, already wanting to put something else on it.

  1. I have a new Traeger, and I’m curious how you did this. Can you share how long you smoked it and if you finished it using some other method. Some people are telling me that you have to “finish” the cook on either a conventional grill or in the oven. The Traeger has a “smoke” setting that’s about 200°. It also has bake settings, starting at about 250 and going up to 450°. The bake settings do not do smoke, at least not much.

I followed a recipe to “smoke” a steak on the Traeger. It was good, but there was no char on it, so maybe it should’ve been finished some other way. I used the 450 bake setting only, as given in a recipe on the Traeger website.
