MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The owner of an Italian restaurant in Myrtle Beach is facing charges after an investigation from an undercover agent.

The City of Myrtle Beach Business License Division requested the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to investigate 43-year-old Genci Cake and his restaurant, Cafe Vincenzo’s, which sits off North Kings Highway near 77th Avenue North.

The restaurant doesn’t have an alcohol license but still sold beer and liquor to an undercover agent on July 7, according to arrest warrants.

SLED then found liquor stored throughout the second floor of the restaurant, which was there for the restaurant to sell, the warrants state.

The agency charged Cake on Tuesday with failure to secure a required beer or wine sale permit, first-offense unlawful sale of alcoholic liquors and first-offense unlawful storage or possession of alcoholic liquors in place of business.
