My Chinese family eats a lot of tomatoes with sugar! It’s really good actually!

How dare you use sugar on… (checks notes)… a fruit!

You’re weirdly the second person I’ve ever seen to like this combo.

I kinda do the same thing with avocado and salt

I’ve always wondered why there aren’t more tomato based desserts, their flavor profile can work in sweet dishes quite well

    I haven’t seen this in decades. It’s is a fruit I guess.

It was a thing in Korea long time ago but this is too much sugar

One of my favourite childhood snacks ❤️

  9. YESSSS I thought we were the only ones that did this! My favorite snack as a child was when my mum put tomatoes and sugar in the blender and it’d be a delicious smoothie. This unlocked some core memories.

Yeah that’s legit. Watermelon with salt. But I thought you were charging it with a cord lmao

I’m Worse. My family eats sliced tomatoes (preferably homegrown ones) with a fat dollop of mayo and a sprinkle of paprika. One of my favorite late summer BBQ side dishes.

I’d try this. I’ve also made a depression era tomato soul cake recipe once before when I was a kid and it was fine. I don’t see anything wrong with sweet tomatoes.

I grew up eating this. Very natural to me. I think it’s a German or Swedish thing.

I like ketchup, and this seems offensive.

My mom used to do that for me when I was a kid, but we didn’t do it with wedges, we cut slices as if they were going on a sandwich

Are you Chinese by chance? My dad’s side of the family does that.
