MONROE, La. (KNOE) – For locals craving something fresh, flavorful and a little different, Paris Banh Mi is quickly becoming a go-to spot in Monroe.
The café blends the rich culinary traditions of Vietnam and France, serving up a menu that’s as unique as it is inviting.
“It’s a variety of food, snacks and drinks — you know, French food mixed with Vietnamese authentic flavors,” said co-owner Ryan Ho.
From signature bánh mì sandwiches, crispy French baguettes filled with savory meats and pickled vegetables, to colorful bubble teas and delicate pastries, each item reflects a mix of heritage and creativity.
“I notice a lot of people don’t know what Paris Banh Mi is until they try it,” Ho said. “They’re scared at first — like, ‘What is pho? What’s boba tea?’ Then they try it and say, ‘Oh, this is good! I should’ve tried this months ago.’”
But the appeal goes beyond the food. Paris Banh Mi is also about connection.
“People come in here three, four times a week,” Ho said. “We’re like, ‘Good to see you again!’ We remember their names. They want to try something new every time — a new drink, a new dish — and we make sure they’re happy with the service, too.”
With its blend of history, flavor and hospitality, Paris Banh Mi offers Monroe a taste of Vietnam and France, no passport required.
“Don’t be afraid to try new things,” Ho added. “There’s a lot in this world, and this is just the start. Come give it a try.”
