steak was 240g (raw), ate 3/4. it was a grass fed ribeye so it had a bit of marbling but i cut away the obvious fat chunks.
had 1 of the lamb chops, pretty lean but i have no idea what the weight was for that.
the two sauces are onion gravy and creamy mushroom, and i had around 2 tbsp of onion and 3 tbsp of mushroom.
2nd photo is breaded portobello mushrooms with some kind of aioli. i ate 2 pieces, which was (i think) a full portobello mushroom and had a tablespoon of sauce.
i estimated 375 (steak) + 150 (steak sauce) + 250 (lamp chop) + 100 (mushroom) + 80 (aioli) + 100 (oil for cooking) = 1055 cals
am i underestimating????

A steak like that is probably 700 plus calories, the lamb chop is 350 to 400 calories . The sauces are probably 200-250 at least, and mushrooms are breaded and fried, so I would estimate 300 each to be safe.
I’d estimate the whole thing to be around 1,600 calories, at least. If you’re calorie counting, always take the high range.
Sauces are a silent killer
Always err on the overestimating side when it comes to restaurant food. Those mushroom pieces can easily be 160kcals, a pop, given the dense breading. That breading can absorb 10-15g of oil from being deep fried… and each gram is nearly 10kcals each.
They also tend to liberally butter cuts of meat after grilling… and the gravy/sauce also tends to be heavily fatty.
I think the estimates made above for the meat are a little high and include the fatty bits on a well marbled ribeye… but you said you trimmed the visible fat out. I’m also going to assume you were conservative with your use of the gravy and the other sauce and didn’t consume all of it.
I’d guess your portion was somewhere between 1,300 and 1,500kcals, with around 90-100g of fat. The mushroom bites and the sauces are your biggest swing factors, which can vary quite a bit based on how they were made and how much you consumed.
Yeah you’re way under. Those sauces are significantly higher than what you had listed and the 100 for oil is probably around 300. Steakhouses use a crazy amount of butter and some of this is fried. This is 1800
1200-1500 easily. Also, guessing how much sauce you ate is dangerous. You’lll always underestimate and those sauces are calories bombs.
If you’re trying to lose weight there’s not much harm in overestimating. However idk your aim and quite frankly I think saying this is 1600-1800+ is a bit excessive. IMO given you said you ate 3/4 and cut off the fatty bits, I would say you had: 550 for the steak (i imagine it was cooked in butter), 200 for the chop, 50 for the gravy, 100 for the shroom sauce, 180 for the fried mushrooms, 90 for the aioli. I would thus say you had 1170. If I was trying to lose weight I’d log 1300 and feel confident. But if you really want to ease on the side of caution 1600+ is going to also be fine.
I think going below 1400 is delusional. (But I mean that with love and compassion. 😉 Seriously though, you are probably 15-20% low on everything. That’s ok though, that’s why you are asking, right? So no big deal.
I think you way underestimated
I wouldn’t spend much time at all worrying about it. Add on a third to be safe, and call it 1,400.
No. Those sauces and the deep fried breaded mushrooms alone will bump the cals up by a decent amount
Yes you are under estimating, I’m tracking 2000 at least
there is nothing lean about a lamb chop
