Rice, beans, peas, and egg. It's basic af but I'm exhausted from thinking about food and trying to build muscle so I need quality calories. Beans might not be viewed favorably in the fitness community but oh well.

Also added rice vinegar for flavor since I was out of any sauces to go with it.

I don’t have a recipe. But precook black beans from the bag, precook the rice, then fry the rice and egg for six minutes. Add seasoned black beans microwaved green peas at the end.

Start intermittent fasting, it’s solves this and many other problems. I went down 20 lbs in two or three months. Still fast every day (most days) since 2020. Delay Don’t Deny – by Gin Stephens was great

Looks delish. When I’m in the same boat I make toast.

Beans are viewed very favorable. Black or pinto for muscle building

Rice and beans have been a staple of people’s diets for hundreds upon hundreds of years. I will bank on the fact that most cultures of the past were extremely athletic on a lean and clean diet. Just lacked the medicine and general quality of life knowledge we have now.

I will say though meal prepping and freezing burritos when you are focused on gains is a huge one and really easy to do.

I like rice and beans. Pair them with tomatoes and onions or garlic, and they are so good.

A nutritionist gave me this formula for judging whether a carb is worth it. Divide grams of carbs by grams of fiber. If result is 5 or less, enjoy.

Great job! I think it looks good, almost like fried rice. The only modification I have to recommend is to add some liquid aminos or soy sauce to it for flavor. Pan fry the entire thing in butter or oil to up the calories if that’s what you need.

You can let the rice sit there without moving it for a longer time and get a lovely, nutty crust. Then add the egg etc to heat through. Yummy!

Rice vinegar and soy sauce make anything taste better!

This hits close to home. Sometimes the simplest combinations are the most comforting when you’re mentally drained. Rice and beans is such a solid base – cheap, filling, and you can’t really mess it up. My mom always says that when you’re too tired to think, stick to basics that work. She does something similar but adds a bit of cumin and garlic powder to the rice while it cooks. The rice vinegar addition is smart – gives it that little something extra without much effort. Decision fatigue around food is so real. Having a few go-to meals like this that require zero planning is honestly a life skill. Hope things get easier for you.

Safe meals are underrated. They save brainpower and still fuel your body and that still sounds like a win to me.
