The eatery was graded “good” in all areas including hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and management of food safety.
Ephesus has been a popular stop on London Colney High Street since its opening in June of this year.
The restaurant replaced Rennie Grove Hospice Care, transforming the unit into an “elegant” dining space.
A Facebook post by the eatery read: “We’re proud to share that Ephesus Meze & Grill has been awarded a five “very good” food hygiene rating!”
“Your health matters to us just as much as the taste of our food,” the post added.
“Because great dining not only about flavour. It’s about trust, care, and hygiene.”
Ephesus combines authentic Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine and gives it a “modern twist”.
Much of its menu harks from the Aegean region of Turkey, promising to utilise fresh ingredients including “locally-sourced veggies” and “the best seafood around”.
Mediterranean staples like Shakshuka, shish, halloumi and falafel can all be found on the Ephesus menu.
