Naples restaurants we’ll miss that closed in 2024
What Naples restaurants closed in 2024? Here’s a few, including a favorite that opened in 1990 in Old Naples.
Bravo Brio Restaurant Group, parent company of Bravo Italian Kitchen, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection a month after closing its Mercato location. This is the second bankruptcy filing for the company in five years, citing inflation and high interest rates as contributing factors.Several other restaurant chains, including Hooters, Red Lobster, and Buca di Beppo, have also filed for bankruptcy in recent years.A new Greek restaurant, Violí, will replace the former Bravo location in Mercato.
A month and a half after Bravo Italian Kitchen closed in Mercato, its parent company Bravo Brio Restaurants LLC has filed for bankruptcy.
Bravo was a longstanding Mercato restaurant, serving locals for more than 15 years before its closure on July 6, 2025. The Naples location was one of seven that Bravo Brio Restaurants LLC decided to close before filing for bankruptcy protection.
The company filed for bankruptcy to restructure its debt, reduce expenses, close underperforming locations, and improve operations in order to attract a new investor.
This is the second time Bravo Brio Restaurants LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in five years. The company says though the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has subsided, the United States has been impacted by “rampant inflation and a sharp doubling of interest rates.”
Bravo isn’t the first company to file bankruptcy this year. Popular casual restaurant chain Hooters filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year in an effort to restructure the brand’s ownership. Luckily, Southwest Florida Hooters locations were not affected.
Last year, TGI Fridays, Red Lobster, and Buca di Beppo all filed for bankruptcy protection. Red Lobster seemingly benefitted from the 2024 bankruptcy, initiating a comeback this year with new menu items like seafood boils.
The Naples Bravo location will be replaced with a Greek restaurant called Violí, bringing a new breezy, bohemian atmosphere to Mercato. We’ll have more details on the new restaurant soon.
