I bought an Anova within the past year and this plastic piece broke off. Anyone know how to replace it that’s sub $15 bucks? Even that’s silly high but $30+ bucks after shipping and tax is insane

The the clamp screw off, take it to HD or Lowes, and rummage around until you find some kind of rubber or plastic fitting that works.

Or there may be plans out there for a 3d printed replacement, if you know someone w/a machine. Or want to try having one printed to order.

Take it out go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and look for a threaded knob. Lots on thingiverse to 3d print if you have access.

This happened to me, I wrote to them via email – within two replies they covered it & shipping by warranty. Since then the whole clasp has also cracked, which, they also covered under warranty… I do question the plastic quality – didn’t think I was that rough on it…

Write direct to Anova… they will support you! A little bit slow, but they will help you good

  6. Count your blessings… my Anova sous vide burst into flames.

I often leave it running while I am out of the house but thankfully I was there when it tried to burn down my house!

U can contact Anova and get a replacement one. I did and they replaced the hole thing with a mettle arm and clamp.

Mine also slowly broke off during the first couple months of use. A piece there, another here, and then the entire plastic screw snapped off.

Is it just the knob on a threaded tensioner? I bet it’s 1/4-20. Take it to a hardware store as others have said. You can get a thumbscrew in the same thread pitch for $0.68 plus gas there and back.

Mine broke the first time I used it. It looks like it was designed to fail. It still works to secure the device to the pot, inconvenient though it may be, so I’m not buying their high priced replacement part. If and when it fails completely I’ll figure something out.

Just contact Anova. Their parts might be kinda cheaply built but as long as it’s under warranty they’re good about replacements. That part breaks a lot.

Ask over at r/functionalprint and see if someone can 3D print something for you

Money broke too. It just crumbled in my hand. Haha weird

Mine was covered under the warranty. Subsequently I figured out you don’t have to tighten it that much.

ANova has perpetual issues with their plastic materials. They replaced my cracked case under warranty. It should last a lifetime.

Huh, it seems I’ve been misled. I had a post all ready to go about how metal pots aren’t great for sous vide because they give off heat I stand corrected. I think the ping ball trick would work well to stop evaporation though!
