A thin-ish NY strip was on sale. Grilled it fast and hot, eaten with sliced end-of-summer heirloom tomatoes.

    we are in prime tomato season here, and have many similar meals… protein and fresh from the garden tomatoes.. either big one’s sliced like above, or cherry tomatoes with some mozerlla pearls, Basil, and sometime of similar olive oil/balasmic dressing.

    Add in a little fresh spinach and you have one of my favorite meals. Those tomatoes look amazing, even better than the (delicious) steak!

    The steak has a nice color on it. Wish we could see how the inside turned out.

    But those tomatoes though! God *damn*. It took me way too late in life to appreciate how good a fresh local tomato can be when they are in season. So, so good.
