We were a bit unsure to try Claudine on a recent trip to the U.S. – they’ve been open about 2 months – but we had a terrific meal.
My partner had an oyster allergy so he missed out on the first course. That one was a bit forgettable for me. Standouts were the salad, scallop, halibut and the dessert. Their sauce game is strong! The cilantro puree was next level and the sauce with the halibut and chicken were delicious. Also bonus points for creative and thoughtful desserts.
We did a wine pairing splitting one portion between us which was appreciated so we could enjoy the tastes and still drive home. Many natural wines some better than others (not always my fav) and a focus on small growers.
The room was incredibly loud even though we were at a little alcove table and it was freezing cold with the airco. With the open kitchen I can imagine it’s a challenge. Warm relaxed service well informed about the dishes. A nice little goodby gift of finishing salts.
Felt like a great value for the quality of food. Would definitely go back to try the menu in another season
