LOL probably just me…I was at Whole Foods and grabbed a salad bag mix and noticed it said 15 cal on the left of the nutrition label and 80 cal on the right of the nutrition label on the bag. I thought like usual the whole bag was 80, maybe using a really light calorie dressing. But it seems the bag is actually 3 servings of the 80, for a total of 240 (which is still fine for me). I wonder if people don’t read into it and sometimes think the whole bag is 80, since so many other labels do servings on left (they just do salad with no mixings on left, and single serving with dressing and toppings on right)

226 cal actually when taking 100g serving and dividing into 283g total bag size. Right?
Honestly, everybody does labels differently. if someone is calorie counting, they’re probably going to actually read it and do the math anyway. so I would say no it’s not confusing. Just like when a label separates cooked from uncooked calories
Idk what youre asking… but yes, if people dont read all of the information they want to know then they wont glean all of the information that they are looking for
I agree that’s a weird label. Does it say something like “suggested toppings/dressing”? The only time I’ve really seen that before is with boxed mac and cheese, where they list the calories on the box and then “as prepared,” but that makes sense because they tell you exactly how much milk and butter to add. Unless the bag has suggested prep instructions, it feels super random—salads can vary a ton in calories depending on the dressing and toppings.
