I’m Egyptian and this viral product from TJ’s suggests it’s totally authentic tasting. Three grams of fiber per serving makes me inclined to think it fits, to an extent, with the MD. Thoughts?

  1. It’s not whole wheat, but it is sourdough. Sourdough is considered acceptable for MD.

Digging deeper into this specific product, means taking a look at the ingredients list. That looks good too:

    WHEAT FLOUR

    WATER

    WHEAT BRAN

SOURDOUGH CULTURE (DRIED SOURDOUGH [CULTURED WHEAT FLOUR, CULTURED RYE FLOUR], YEAST, ASCORBIC ACID [DOUGH CONDITIONER] ENZYME)

    SALT

There’s no way that has the authentic grit of aish baladi 🙂
