  1. Nervous, overthinking basic stuff, your boss stinks like onions

  2. JelmerMcGee

Either you have anxiety or your boss is a jerk. In my experience this is not a most of us thing

  3. Me all the time. I am even the boss usually. Why am I like this?

  4. A lot of these things are stuff people do by instinct, not active thinking. Pouring something into a bottle isn’t exactly something you need to be actively thinking about, but once you notice the boss come over and they are looking at you your conscious mind starts kicking in and it is a lot slower at processing than your subconscious so more errors happen.

Or you just have a kink for being yelled at.

I used to work at a Wolfgang puck restaurant. Even though he was rarely ever at the restaurant there were two distinct times he did this to me.

One time I was just cutting up strawberries for a dessert and he came over and watched and I did everything in my power not to panic but immediately started questioning if I was cutting strawberries right.

The other time I forget what I was making but I remember him staring over my shoulder and watching me and that somehow made me lock in and do what I was doing perfectly because I was terrified to mess up.

Definitely anxiety for me. I ran that place just fine every night. I switched to mornings with him. A 67 year old bipolar man. I lasted about 6 months.

LOL. I’m glad I’m the manager of my kitchen, so nobody can do this to me. 🙂

Just a lurker here but I get the same thing. I do flooring and have for over a decade now, but it still fucks me up when someone watches over my shoulder. It’s an expanded version of Murphys law, anything that can go wrong will go wrong, while the worst person to see it is watching.

Same it’s usually the fact someone’s observing you stressing you out..
