Is my beef entrecôte gone bad ? (It has like a strong strong beef smell which is not satisfying my nose making me real hesitant about eating it).
Maybe I’m seeing things but it seems it’s becoming green on the side, but I need confirmation from some pros.
(Sorry for posting this, will delete after I got answers).

I’ve risked it with steaks that look like that and have a strong odor. Didn’t get sick but it doesnt taste fresh. I’d say this is worth tossing.
If it smells off, don’t eat it
I wouldn’t risk it, it’s definitely not fresh.
You don’t need to apologize for posting and you don’t need to delete it… that’s part of the purpose of this sub
As for whether it’s gone bad – from the visuals it doesn’t look super bad or anything. Why do you suspect it’s gone bad? Did you leave it out for awhile? Has it been in your fridge for a few weeks?
You mention a strong beefy smell – I notice that quite often especially after I’ve wet aged meat for a few weeks. Definitely doesn’t mean it’s gone bad. Spoiled beef has a smell that… well you just kinda *know*. There really isn’t a question, “not satisfying to your nose” would be a HUGE understatement. Your stomach starts to turn. I know the smell you’re describing (I think) which is kind of a strong iron/blood smell? Yeah that’s fine
Edit: if you have a little hesitation then cook it to medium. I don’t think you need to go full 160*
If you have to ask, you know the answer.
Not worth the risk. At best, you’d get a mediocre steak. At worst, well, you know. Toss it.
Trust your nose. Our olfactory senses are set up a certain way for a very good reason.
