Lagana is coming to Shoreditch this September
Over the past few years, the Pachamama Group, which made its name doing Peruvian food, has been revamping its London restaurant portfolio and moving it in a Mediterranean direction. First came Zephyr in Notting Hill in 2022 and then in 2024, the group’s seafood-focused spot Chicama in Chelsea was turned into Greek restaurant Bottarga. Earlier this year, what was Pachamama in Marylebone became Italian spot Nina, and now the old Pachamama East site in Shoreditch is being flipped into Lagana.
Named after the Greek flatbread, Lagana, the group’s most casual restaurant, will be led by Group Executive Chef Tzoulio Loulai, who’s doing a menu of skewers, flatbreads and small plates, including dishes like:
courgette tempura with spiced red pepper sauce savoury loukoumades with graviera cheesefresh anthotiro cheese with thyme and truffle oilcharred corn on the cob with yellow chilli butter and cumin saltdry-aged picanha with beef juslamb kebab with oregano-tomato sauce, cumin yoghurt and roasted fennelsea bass ceviche in a kakavia saucebeef tartare with shallots, capers, kokkinisto ketchup and potato crisps
The accompanying drinks list will be concise, featuring cocktails inspired by colours (including a signature frozen serve) and beers on tap.
The other Pachamama Group sites all have very vibey interiors and Lagana sounds like it’s going to follow suit, with a brushed steel mosaic bar running down the length of the space, plus vintage chandeliers, wabi-sabi walls, and retro bathrooms. No doubt this’ll be another smash hit for the group too.
