I got one of these Dash pint ice cream makers because it was on sale, I know it’s not going to be anywhere near a proper CuisineArt or Ninja Creami, but I can’t get even ok results out of it so far. Pretty much anything I’ve put in freezes onto the sides and bottom instantly, which then makes it so the paddle either struggles to turn, can’t turn at all, or can’t even fit down in the container, it just dings off the hardened bottom and won’t go further.

I put the mixture in the fridge before and have tried moving it to the freezer for a half hour to an hour just before using, but if it’s in the freezer for as long as it suggests in the instructions, it’ll freeze completely. It’s frustrating and messy to use once things start going wrong.

Anyone have advice on how to get the best results with this thing or should I give up?
