Cowboy lump is atrocious. So many rocks and junk in there.

  2. Coolcolin1

At Costco, the price ending in .97 means it’s the lowest it will go and it will not be restocked

  3. Surprised Costco would sell such a poor product.

It’s like the 4th of July when you light it up. And I mean the fireworks, not the grilling

  5. Good to know as I usually just stock up on kingsford briquettes but was thinking if trying lump

Cowboy lump is even worse than royal oak it’s just filled with a lot of twigs and pieces of wood that like to explode. This is the only bag of charcoal i used that deafened me momentarily from how loud some of the pieces were while detonating in my offset.

Not the best charcoal. I have been using B&B charcoal and have had good results

45 cents a lb or lower is usually a great deal. This seems way overpriced for what it is

  9. ConstructionPale8793

Walmart has 32 lbs briquettes for $17

I’ve been using Komodo Big Block lump, but man, that stuff has gotten crazy expensive!

Why would you want charcoal made from old cowboys?

That’ll be the lowest price by the * in the corner. It’s not going to be there long either.

Only took two bags of finding rocks, melted plastic, and chard braided wire in it to never buy it again.

That’s an excellent price. I paid $28 2 weeks ago. It’s an excellent charcoal.

Cowboy is the crappiest lump charcoal out there. Avoid avoid avoid

  16. I’ve bought this bag from Costco. Top half of bag was decent, bottom half of bag was pebble sized pieces & dust. Although you will run into that with a lot of lump.

NGL the last bad of cowboy I got from Meijer a few weeks ago had some insane pieces. Like fogo super lump type pieces. I was in shock.

  18. What’s a good charcoal brand for lump charcoal not briquettes

Honestly ive got a cowboy bag. Only 1 twig but lumps are larger than royal oak big bag I got m flavor is good. I would buy a bag and just be careful dumping it in.

I’ve bought that from Costco and it was fine. Seemed like the quality was better than it had been in the past

I used cowboy briquettes and actually really enjoyed them, they burned well and provided a better wood burn flavor than brands like kingsford. So I bought their lump charcoal too and I had no issues with it, I know a lot of people on this sub hate it but mine didn’t have any of the issues I see people talking about on here. I don’t know if I got a random bag that just happened to be good because it’s the only bag I’ve used of it and don’t have the negative experience to compare it to.

  22. RockyRoadHouse

I use their briquettes and it take a mine to get started but after that it’s blazing hot for about an hr or two

  23. I’ve never gotten rocks… worst I got was a string in the bag. It works, but will spark a lot when firing up. Okay when it settles. Still not a bad price

  24. Cheese_head_gabagool

Personally I don’t like the cowboy charcoal. I bought it one time and it was bad enough for me to never try again. So many broken pieces, dust, didn’t burn long, etc.

It’s Lazzari mesquite or nothing for me.
