To start, this is in no way a negative review of Hello Fresh (as I am not a customer). Their customer support was very helpful and they are reporting this up to their management.

I received a small envelope from a Canadan address. Inside was this Hello Fresh flyer and a 1tb USB flash drive. Thinking this was unusual, I contacted Hello Fresh to ask if this was a normal thing to attract new subscribers(?) and they told me they do not send out USB Drives at all. As someone who works in IT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT USING ANY RANDOM USB DRIVE YOU FIND/RECEIVE EVER (as this would be an easy way to implement a malware/ransomware attack on your PC). Stay safe out there everyone, and remember no one is impervious to being scammed 🫡

Damn, this is a new one. Very creative.

  2. Im not saying you’re wrong but it seems like 1TB usb drives can be pretty cheap. In that case I don’t think it would be totally impossible for HF to include this as a free promotional incentive.

Surely there is a way to test if it is malicious right?

Also their CS department could be totally oblivious to this promotion
