Paolo Lanzetta welcomed customers to Zia Torre – Italian Street Food – in Union Street, Reading, at the former site of The Grumpy Goat, on February 15.
Mr Lanzetta, who moved to the UK in 2016, has worked in several Italian restaurants through the years.
He said: “It has always been my dream to open a restaurant like this so people can try authentic Italian and Nepalese cuisine.
“I found that when people come back from visiting these places, they always say that they can never find anywhere where the food tastes as good or as authentic.
“I want to offer a place for people to come and get authentic Italian food made handmade and homemade every day.”
“I come in every morning and make everything from scratch including the pizzas, homemade pasta, and the pastries as well.”
The restaurant offers a host of different pizzas including Margherita, Diavola, Zi Tore and Ortolana.
They also serve pizza by the slice for customers looking for a bite to eat whilst walking through town.
Pasta dishes include lasagne, gnocchi, and ravioli – filled with ricotta and parmesan.
Mr Lanzetta added: “I really hope customers appreciate what I offer.
“Everything is handmade on the day right here in the kitchen including the fresh pasta.”
The restaurant/café is opened from 7.30am to 8pm.
It also offers a host of sweet treats and coffees.
Sweet treats include cornetto, zeppola, cinnamon roll, lemon cheesecake, and tiramisu.
Everything is available for sit-in and takeaway.
Comfortable seating is also available downstairs and upstairs.
