Jonny's Pizza
Super thin slice with a very airy crust. Crispy bottom. Crust has great texture but wasn’t especially flavorful. Sauce was much sweeter than I’d have liked. 3/5
Andrea's Pizza
Also very thin. Good slice. A little saltier than Jonny’s, which I enjoyed. A better sauce:cheese ratio for me, too. Would def go again. 3.5/5
Lucia Pizza Of SoHo
Kind of a quintessential NY slice. All components here just worked. Crust had great texture – good chew. Whereas at Jonny’s the dominant flavor was the sauce, Andrea’s the cheese, the Lucia slice balanced those components the best. Only rating the plain slice here, but the vodka and spinach slices were great. Interesting, Lucia had the cheapest plain slice of the 3 shops I visited, but the other two were pretty expensive (overpriced IMHO at $6+ ea) 4.25/5
All pretty good slices, but one big takeaway for me is that the gap between these solid slices and what I consider upper echelon is pretty great. As a baseline, my two favorite slices are L'Industrie and F&F
