Hi there! I’ve been getting into baking more recently and have been really excited to try out cake decorating. This cake was really fun to make and especially decorate! (Piping is rough y’all haha) It is an almond cake with vanilla buttercream and cherry jam inside. The recipe I used for the cake was John Kanell (Preppy Kitchen) vanilla cake, and with the vanilla extract I just added about a tablespoon of almond extract as well. Used a basic vanilla buttercream (also Preppy Kitchen recipe). My family loved it, it’s definitely a winner for me too!

Looks and likely tastes amazing. How does one cut a cake that height? I’d be pretty anxious.

Any tips for slicing or was it pretty easy to cut slices without any mishaps?
