Opened a 2009 Heitz Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet. Still plenty of fruit. I got that classic mint/eucalyptus note alongside dark cherry and a little chocolate. Soft. Long, clean finish. Seems like a good spot to enjoy.

Recently had an ‘82 of this. I’m not a cali cab sauv guy, but was still fun and interesting to taste.

sublime. One of my favorite wineries on hwy 29.
This is definitely a classic Napa wine.
If you can get your hands on their Port, you’ll fall in love with it. it’s the port wine for non-port wine drinkers.

As a Bordeaux drinker and all around old world champion, this is one of the few Napa wines I really enjoy and stand behind. Glad you enjoyed it! I’d love to try the 2009

Marthas never disappoints.

One of the great wines of Napa valley, and the first single vineyard bottling in the history of Napa valley!

Love that note — the eucalyptus/mint signature of Martha’s is so distinctive, and it’s no surprise to hear it’s still showing plenty of fruit at 15 years in. That combination of dark cherry, chocolate, and lift is exactly why these wines are so revered.
Did you find the structure still firm, or is it really starting to soften out now? 2009 in Bordeaux produced very opulent wines. Not sure how Napa was.
